Detailed Gate

When I first saw this die cut in the catalog I was so impressed with the detail in it. Maybe that's why they call it detailed! Lol. I knew I wanted to get it because there would be so many things you could do with it. Here are a few I did.

The first is a Halloween card because that's what the stamps that come with it are for. I used black glimmer paper over black cardstock and just a little square from the Spooky Night DSP.

Then I had to make a Christmas card.

And then the fun began! I started cutting it up into smaller pieces and here are some of the designs I came up with.

I used a piece of it to put behind the sentiment just to add some interest.

Then I saw a plant hanger and had to make that!

And then I made shutters for the windows!

I know there is a lot more that will be able to be done with this set and I look forward to playing with it some more. And seeing what you all come up with to. Share some of your creations with me!

Thanks for stopping by!

Quilters Beware!

If you are a quilter, you are going to love one of the new sets in the Holiday Catalog! I'm not a quilter, but when I saw it I knew it was on my list of have to haves. I have been playing with it and wanted to share some of the cards I made.

The first one I made using the Painted Autumn DSP. I wasn't quite ready for Christmas so I went with a fall theme. I love the paper and it made such a nice quilt.

The next two I decided to go with Christmas although the first one doesn't have to be. It is just a nice monochromatic look.

In this one I just love the little tree wrapped in gold thread. I'm not sure if you can see it in the picture. I quilted this one with the new embossing folder then popped up the decorated tree.

The last one is a 6 x 6 card because I really wanted to make a quilt with the stamps. I used the Quilted Christmas DSP  and the embossing folder on this one too. Notice the little spool and needle at the bottom. You can actually thread the needle!

I am so excited about this set that if you order the bundle and the embossing folder from me by September 12th using the host code RP9FYDV6 I will give you 12 sheets of the new Quilted Christmas 6 x 6 paper. That is one of each design in the pack.

This is a really fun set to play with. Who knows, maybe it will make a quilter out of me!

Painted Harvest

I can't believe it's September already! Summer is over and the smell of grapes is in the air. It's cooler outside and the leaves are starting to turn. And I love it!

One of the new sets in the Holiday catalog is Painted Harvest. When I first saw it I knew it would be one of the first sets I bought. I love sunflowers and the watercolor look made it even better. It is more versatile than it looks and I hope to be doing a couple of posts on it.

Of course I had to start with sunflowers! The first I used water with the ink to give it even more of a watercolor look. I played around with it, stamping a couple times to get the effect I wanted. I'm really happy with it.

The next one I stamped a background to put the sunflowers on. I liked the way it looked so much I used it in the next card too! I didn't put a sentiment on this one because I though it was too pretty and I didn't want to cover it up!

The last one I used just the leaves and the DSP.

The catalog goes live today! If you need one let me know and I will mail you one. There are lots of good things in there you don't want to miss!
